Don’t Go

Remember me, just a little.

I know I’m fading,

Like light on the horizon as night approaches.

I know our time was fleeting,

Like leaves crinkling and dying,

To be blown away with the wind,

At least try to remember something.

Don’t let it all go.

A hazy memory will do.

Even a wistful stray thought

That may surprise you at an odd time.

I would accept that.

Just don’t forget me completely.

I couldn’t bear it.
