Untitled Poem IV

I danced for you

I sang for you

I did all that you asked me to

let you jerk me left and right

Yet never once put up a fight

My heart was all I had to give

You never did, not once, in turn

Give said love a chance to live

You shot it down, a scorching burn

Wooden steps upon a stage

A rhythmic clapping, all was set

The play was done, your needs all met

Still I knew not how to gauge

Then you went and cut my strings

My body crumbles, how it stings

Now I lie, the stage the same,

The players there

I mouth your name.
